Title: Tender Surrenders
Rate: R
Pairing: An all around all with all.
Disclaimer: Love, a destructive/constructive force of nature. Involving the feelings of four people and their fears, troubles etc in accepting it.
Chapter 1.
Alex watched the beach from his hotel room’s balcony, all the beach was under his sight, his green eyes watched over the place. He sighed, and, though he’d regret it later, lit a cigarette and exhaled a small cloud made of smoke. He coughed. The warm air around him was drugging him, challenging to go outside and seek some action with some other “action seekers”. The Who sounded in the radio, “They call me the seeker… I won’t get to get what I’m after… ‘til the day I die” and I couldn’t be a better invitation for going out.
Alex took a fast look in the mirror (author’s note, I HATE natural rhymes) and his reflection returned him a quite sad gaze, his eyes seemed to be enormous, beautiful, sincere. Those action seekers never had that on their sight: sincerity. That was the reason because Alex was hurt when the things in a couple weren’t as good as it should be, whether he wanted or not, he was always very involved on anything, whether it had future or not.
Alex left everything on his bed (he hid his inhaler… somewhere under his bed) and went outside in search of “some action”. Cigarettes on his pocket, whisky flows rushing through his veins, an unusual braveness and feeling of “I’m gonna show you” even though he didn’t know who was he gonna show that.
The sunset offered a beautiful landscape to his eyes and he walked down to the beach, he knew other people would be there. After a while he’ll notice furtive lovers found better places than the beach to look for action.
Unfortunately, he discovered that two of his band mates were on the beach. It was really more action than he wanted to find. More action than he could (and his lungs as well) tolerate.
Paul was on Nick, Alex couldn’t see it, but from the place he watched, the passion felt, those kisses that burned hotter than Hell, the looks, the caresses they gave to each other. Overall, the love they seemed to reflect, ignoring that Alex’s heart was practically breaking in front of them.
In other circumstances Alex wouldn’t give a damn about that, but considering he wanted, loved, wished Paul with all his heart, that scene made him lost all the hope in that issue.
-How could you?!-he shouted.
Nick and Paul turned, Nick glared at him; Paul watched him with an “I’m sorry” expression on his face, two stunning gazes staring at him when he discovered their secret.
-Fucking hell, how could you?!-he repeated.
-How could we what?-Nick stated.
Alex ran, he ran as fast as he could, far from Nick and Paul, the gentle breeze mixed with the salty flavour of his tears. The air felt dry around him and all the effort of running was making harder for him to breathe.
-Nick… you knew about this?-Paul asked-I mean, he wouldn’t act like this if something were not okay.
-I think he likes you-Nick said.-I ain’t sure but he is surely acting strange.
-Fucking hell!-Paul stood up and rushed through the beach in the same direction as Alex.
Paul followed Alex. He ran and he found him, sitting next to a wall.
-Alex…-Paul whispered, walking in the direction in which Alex was.
Alex was very pale, he was desperately trying to breathe and his eyes looked enormous.
-Pa…Paul…-he gasped as he tried to stand up.
-No, Alex, wait, don’t move-he said.-Everything is alright, I promise.
Alex stood up, he tried to wipe off his tears; he felt very weak and dizzy, he staggered.
-Alex…
Alex walked down a few steps, then he collapsed into Paul’s arms, he didn’t faint.
-I love you….
Paul turned to see if it there wasn’t no one around there.
-I love you too.
And he kissed Alex gently, he felt Alex weak pulse on his neck, his friend had an attack and he felt really worried. Alex was half passed out, he had a bit of alcohol on his breathe.
-Alex, please hold on, wait, everything would be fine.
Alex nodded in some way, Paul pulled out Alex’s cell phone and with it, a cigarette box fell from Alex’s pocket.
-You’re a fucking suicide, Alex-he smiled-don’t worry, I’m sure it wasn’t your intention to do so.
Alex held Paul tightly, he couldn’t breathe.
-Please… take…. me….to…
But he didn’t finish the phrase; he was unconscious on Paul’s arms.
-ALEX!!! NO!
Paul desperately called someone, on the other side of the line Nick asked:
-Alex? What in all hell you want?
-I’m not Alex-Paul said-listen Nick, call an ambulance, I’m a bit far from the hotel and Alex has just passed out.
-WHAT?!
-Yes… fuck yes… Nick, fast, please….
-Okay, don’t worry, hang on there.
Paul looked at Alex, he looked peaceful.
-Please, Alex… hold on…. I really, really love you.
