yeah I wasn't her number one fan and I admit that... but some of her songs I did honestly like and are still on my hard drive. I think it was a shame that she fell by the wayside courtesy of her vices, however that doesnt stop me feeling some compassion towards her and her family. no one should ever have to die alone and I have always said that. Whatever. if you want to delete then fine

That's fair enough and I respect that. but I am not just like "ooh RIP this person" or whatev. whether you liked her or not, you had to respect the voice/talent that she had. It's a damn fucking shame because when she bought that house up the road from me it was looking good for her as its quite as fuck up here and friends were hopeful she could cut the bad things out of living in Camden and focus on her music.
As for Ryan Dunn, yeah you wouldn't know my prior love of it because they hadn't done anything since 2006 and then when Jackass came back last year I was stoked. He was always my favourite and re watching all my old Jackass DVDs that have been on my shelf a while, I see why. I don't doubt that you and your mom are really upset as I know how much you both liked her. If you think I am being disrepectful or whatever then I'm sorry...

Aye, I wasn't a particular fan. Some of her songs make me remember certain times in my life that's all but it is sad, she was someone's daughter. It was a shock to hear of her death but at the same time it wasn't.

Amy and I weren’t close but we ran into each other at many significant points in our careers. I found her to be warm, shy, incredibly hard working and ultimately a very lovely girl. The word soul is tossed around in music and has come to mean slick, cheesy, formulated and easy on the ear but Amy put so much of her sweet complicated, troubled and romantic self into that amazing music that she reclaimed the word. Amy only ever sang her soul. I hope we can focus now on the music she has left us and not the details of her personal life. To those who tried so hard to rob her of her dignity, you failed. -Guy Garvey.

the only time i was cross with her was when papers wrote she killed her hamster by blowing crack cocaine smoke on him. but after 10 minutes of consideration i thought to myself that the papers wrote another shitfucking lie. amy´s wild side never scared me or funnily i never considered it unusual because -apart from taking heroin- her habits were pretty much like those of my family members.....

Nice for leaving this up Lauz and a it's now a far better titled thread. I know it's really hit you hard and maybe it's a good way of working through it/remembering her by.
Initially I didn't like "reported" stories of how she was with fans but then again there's two sides to every story and people no doubt playing up to her 'drunken' antics/trying to get 15 mins of fame and so anything I read with a pinch of salt after. having my own vices, wouldnt say owt about how she lived her life but I felt it was bad that she was in grips of stuff that made her a touch unreliable. That ratty smackhead of a ex of hers no doubt played biggest role in all that. I see he's going to be featured in another docu about her showing this week. less publicty for him the better. vile
one of my closest friends died at 29 as an alcoholic and it hit me hard. Amy's death has really served to bring a lot of memories/feelings back to the surface.
Hopefully the material that has been completed will be released at an appropriate time and people will enjoy her legacy/remember her for all the good reasons

I think this song expresses correctly what Amy was like. Her spirit was wild, natural, authentic, genuine, with no pose and with no other intention of being other than herself. Her statement was that little, lovely tattoo of a bird saying "Never Clip My Wings", she got all the strenght, pain, love, passion and devoution tattooed in all her songs, all of a supernatural musical quality. Amy Winehouse, i support Guy Garvey, those who tried to rob you of your dignity failed. You remained authentic and beautiful until the very end.
