Guess where I was tonight? None other than Nye's Polonaise Room Pretty low-key compared to a Friday or Saturday night, but the piano bar was still rockin' with classics like Kenny Rogers' "Lady" and such. I still think Alex's description of the place was spot-on!

I have my signed copy of the book too, I got it for £3 on Amazon and didn't even know it was a signed copy, you can imagine how surprised I was when I received it ^^
I'm listening to the excerpts he read for the radio, and OMG his voice... his voice is so amaaaaaazingly sensual, and the tone with which he says some words that can be understood a completely different way is not helping... this guy is Evil!

So tonight's the night our book club is going to Nye's to discuss Sound Bites - can't wait to see what the peeps in my club think about it! We've got about 14 people coming! I'll report back here tomorrow. If I can function, that is...Nye's is a dangerous place, especially when you have to work the next day.

Carrying on a conversation w/myself in here...lol Nye's/book club/Sound Bites was fun last night. Out of 15 people, just two didn't like the book. Those two losers (lol, kidding) said he just didn't hold their attention and they didn't like the writing style. Some people loved it...a couple had never heard of FF - what cave have they been living in??? In any case, it was fun to talk about the book and the food - a couple people had the Kluski pasta and said it was excellent. We read part of the book to the waitress - the wait staff there is amazing - they're all older men and women who take great pride in their old-school Polish bar/restaurant. Had some wine, but not much...I think that was my first sober night ever at Nye's ... lol

Well I did tweet the part about the good response in the book club, with his @alkapranos in it, so maybe he read it - but it probably got lost in the sea of requests for tix.

Well I do have to say, some of them didn't even know who FF was...I couldn't believe it! But at least they can appreciate good writing and humor!
